As you might imagine, those who are not comfortable wearing hats might ask, "Where would I wear such a hat as this, Edwardian inspired boater?" Well, my first response might be the obvious answer. "Why, on a boat of course!! Then my second response would be, "Anywhere you please, and please do!!" The Edwardians knew how to pass the time away on a hot, lazy August afternoon, carelessly drifting down stream on a gentle tributary, followed by a picnic lunch on the banks. Why not give it a try? You'll be properly attired in this lighter than air sinamay straw boater, which has been handblocked on a vintage wooden hatblock, and is completely lined.
A four inch wide striped ribbon, has been shirred into gathers for texture, and a double ruffled bow, is accented in the center with a beautiful, vintage, handcarved mother of pearl button, and finished with a spray of naturally colored feathers, to mimick the stripes in the ribbon.
At the moment, his hat is a made to order item, so please convo me with your head measurement, plus one finger for comfort. Be sure to measure over the ears, over the eyebrow line, and the fullest part of the back of the head. Not too tight. Turn around time is 3-4 weeks.
NOTE: Please be aware that the button on this hat is hand carved mother of pearl, but the design of the button on future hats will be a bit different, as they are all one of a kind vintage.
